Meet Nicole.  She plays one of the coolest instruments ever, the marimba.

Nicole also loves music.  She has a pretty fabulous vinyl record collection as well.  (Yes, real old school records, they’re coming back people.) She brought a selection of them with her to the shoot.

With one more change, we went to one of her favorite spots for a few more photos.

high school senior session

How does time go by so quickly?  I met Hannah when she was just a few months old and started babysitting for her older brother (whom you might remember from this session) and her little sisters FOURTEEN years ago.  Does this make me old?

We shot her session at Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis, Missouri.

Hannah is an amazing clarinet player.  We just had to incorporate it into her session.

Time for a change and some more fun!

Hannah is also an INCREDIBLE artist.  Seriously, she always wows me with her drawings.  I was so excited when she showed up with her sketch pad.

Although I know in years I’m not that old, this session makes me feel it.  I met Aaron when he was only weeks old and started babysitting for him and his sisters when he was only 5 years old.  It’s shocking to me that he can almost be 18 years old already.  Where did the time go?  Regardless, when his mother asked if I could shoot his senior photos I was thrilled.

We had so much fun during this session. Aaron was up for just about anything and since we’ve known each other so long we were both totally comfortable.

Aaron has been playing lacross all throughout high school so of course we had to incorporate his gear into some shots.

Game time.

Onto our third change and a new location.

Am I bias or is this kid pretty damn good looking?

Alright, get him a modeling contract.  Stat.

As I said, Aaron and I have known each other for the better part of both of our lives. So.. we decided it’d be fun to mix it up a bit and take this senior session to the extreme. Why not “mock” those cheesy senior portraits we all hate with a cheesy silly background?  First we found this rock wall…

Then we found this playground with all these crazy colors…

And of course, no playground is complete without a slide…

Or swings!

After a session I’m always reminded why I love my job.  I LOVE to have fun!

This week I’ve been home in St. Louis attending loads of Cardinals baseball games and of course shooting! This session marks the fourth session in one week! Today, I had the pleasure of shooting Emma’s senior session. On Friday, at a Cardinals game with Emma’s mom, she mentioned they still needed senior photos for her. I said, “What are you doing Sunday?”

I am so pleased with how these photos came out! Although we had great shooting conditions (besides it starting to rain at the very end of the shoot) Emma is absolutely stunning and looks fantastic in front of the lens.
