shoshana bat mitzvah

I had the absolute pleasure of being involved in Shoshana’s Bat Mitzvah.  After meeting this lovely lady, I was shocked to find out she was only 13.  She has such class, politeness and not to mention is STUNNING!

It’s no wonder where she gets her looks huh? This is one good looking family.

Not only are they a good looking family, they are also very sincere and kind.  Shoshana’s brother made her this Yad for her to read the Torah with.  He carved it himself.

Shoshana’s Tallit was made in Isreael special just for her.  It’s one of a kind.

Shoshana’s parents both had the sweetest things to say to her.  It was very touching.

After a few speeches from Shoshana’s closest family and friends it was time to eat.  The food was out of this world amazing.  Seriously.

And of course, what Bat Mitzvah would be complete without dessert?!  Most of these delectable little cakes were baked by Feed Your Soul Cakes.  And the red velvet cupcakes were crafted by Susie’s Cakes.  Seriously.. yum!

They even had a Fuji Polaroid camera going.  It was pretty rad.

If this doesn’t explain how awesome and amazing this family was.. toward the end of the night Shoshana’s mom asked me to take a photo of myself because she wanted one of me too.  :)  Of course I asked Shoshana to be in it with me and she happily obliged.  I feel so lucky to have been involved in this event.  Shoshana has the most beautiful life ahead of her and I can’t wait to see what she does with it.

kick ass cake bash :: culver city, ca

When Dana, from The Broke Ass Bride merged with Fantasy Frostings, I knew I had to be apart of this event.  It would be that amazing.  And let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint.  If parties could be ranked, this one would be in the top ten for sure.  I don’t think there was one person that didn’t have an absolutely fabulous time.  I mean, it was a party to celebrate cake, who’s not happy when they are eating cake?!

The party was held at the Royal T Cafe, a fantastic venue in Culver City.

Upon entry, you walked the red carpet.  How fun is that?

As if eating cake, drinking, and mingling isn’t enough to do, there were TONS of other activities.  Like getting chop sticks in your hair or a cupcake painted on your arm thanks to Dollhouse Hair & Makeup.

I had the pleasure of not only attending but shooting little Grant’s 2nd birthday last weekend.  It was held at Joey’s Gym in Beverly Hills.  It is a GREAT spot for a little tyke’s birthday bash.  There was jumping, tumbling, sliding, flips and fun!  I don’t think there was one kid there who didn’t have a fantastic time.  Including the adorable birthday boy.

This is maybe my favorite photo from the whole day.  We were trying so hard to get them both to smile and look at the camera and they just weren’t having it.  I just love both them covered in cake.

beach birthday bash

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Earlier this summer, I was given the task of photographing a friend’s birthday party.  I’m finally getting to posting it.  Steve celebrated in style on the beach with a bonfire (yes there were s’mores AND hot dogs) as the sun was sinking into the sea.  It was a blast, not to mention absolutely stunning.

Normally I would never think a setting sun would make a beautiful black and white but there was nothing stopping the beauty this night.

Of course, a group shot was entirely necessary.  Especially with that glowing light!

or two. :)

The birthday boy and his adorable girlfriend. I’ll be shooting their wedding one of these days.. right Steve?

And what beach bonfire party would be complete without glow stick bracelets and necklaces!

I just loved this guy and his hat. He also just so happens to be a photographer as well so he had no problems with me photographing him over and over again.
