aaron senior portrait session

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Although I know in years I’m not that old, this session makes me feel it.  I met Aaron when he was only weeks old and started babysitting for him and his sisters when he was only 5 years old.  It’s shocking to me that he can almost be 18 years old already.  Where did the time go?  Regardless, when his mother asked if I could shoot his senior photos I was thrilled.

We had so much fun during this session. Aaron was up for just about anything and since we’ve known each other so long we were both totally comfortable.

Aaron has been playing lacross all throughout high school so of course we had to incorporate his gear into some shots.

Game time.

Onto our third change and a new location.

Am I bias or is this kid pretty damn good looking?

Alright, get him a modeling contract.  Stat.

As I said, Aaron and I have known each other for the better part of both of our lives. So.. we decided it’d be fun to mix it up a bit and take this senior session to the extreme. Why not “mock” those cheesy senior portraits we all hate with a cheesy silly background?  First we found this rock wall…

Then we found this playground with all these crazy colors…

And of course, no playground is complete without a slide…

Or swings!

After a session I’m always reminded why I love my job.  I LOVE to have fun!

jeanette & brandon :: sneak peak

bouquet

I sooo much FUN with Jeanette and Brandon yesterday on their big day.  They have such fabulous friends and family that were so helpful and truly kind, caring people.  They only invited 100 guests so I really felt like I got to know a lot of their wonderful friends.  I felt so honored to be apart of their day.  Here’s Brandon just before he saw Jeanette for the first time!! I love the smile on his face.

Thanks again you two!  Can’t wait to show you the rest!  Have fun on your honeymoon in Fiji!  So jealous, but you deserve it.  Don’t forget I want to see your photos! :)

katie & andrew: engaged!

Meet the adorable Katie and Andrew who are to be wed next summer so save the date!

Katie was pretty reluctant to let me borrow her ring for this shot but I promised her it’d be worth it. I hope you think so, Katie! :)

Aren’t they just adorable together?

I love the way Andrew smiles with Katie near him.

Then it was time for a quick change of clothes and scenery! We caught the most AMAZING light.. I couldn’t stop shooting here.

In case you were curious, Andrew is over a foot taller than Katie.  Even in heels, he towers over her.  I love how cute she is when she’d look up at him.

Across from this amazing light was a beautiful waterfall and what kind of photographer would I be if I didn’t take advantage of it?

As much as Katie loves kisses from her man, she loves kissing her man!

Relaxing together to watch the sunset.

Although this wedding is almost a year away I just know it’s going to be amazing. I can’t wait to show you two the save the date cards I’m designing for you! Hope you love these as much as I do!

markus & morgan: portraits in the park!

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Earlier this month I went to Saint Louis for about 10 days to attend one wedding and shoot another. While there, I scheduled portrait sessions almost every day! It was so much fun. Markus and Morgan kicked off the week at the Art Museum in Forest Park.

Of course no session would be complete without a few family portraits with mom on art hill.

A kiss for mom :)

In this next one, mom asked Morgan to give her a kiss.  Morgan leaned in with puckered lips and just as she got close enough, stuck out her tongue and licked mom upside the face.  I love this moment after.

Time to play in the grass!

And on to the next play spot! :)

Morgan is such a ham and for being only four years old, really understood the camera.  She posed for shots and knew exactly what I was looking for.  Gotta love that!

As you can see, I had such a blast with these two!  After their photo session, they were having a picnic in the park.  I was saying goodbye to mom when Marcus told me, “You can stay for the picnic if you want!  You don’t have to go.”  So sweet.

arami & andy: engaged!

Are they gorgeous or what?

As seen from their sneak peek, Arami made this adorable sign for their engagement session.  Andy’s last name is Yoon, so she named their session “Yoonited” Too cute!

They are so sweet together.  I just love their smiles in this one.

Then they got serious….

… not really.

The way she laughs around him is truly adorable.

Time for a costume/scene change!  We found this really great dock that we were supposed to “stay off” .. we didn’t listen.

So sexy :)

Can’t wait for your wedding, you two!  It’s going to be so beautiful! :)
