Amelia was just shy of two weeks old when her family invited me to come take these.  I always forget how little they are when they are this young.  I love newborns.  I just can’t get over their tiny feet and toes, the way they wiggle and squirm but never get anywhere, and how no matter the temperature they are always warm they are when you hold them in your arms. Little Amelia was no exception.  What surprised me more than anything was how alert she was for a new baby.  She looked at me and the camera, acknowledged voices and loved to be held!

Although little Amelia was only born two weeks ago, she came into the world with many admirers.

1.) Her proud big sister, Gracie.

The 22 month old, Gracie, so cutely called this a “finger hug” when Amelia would squeeze her little tiny hand around her big sister’s finger.  So sweet.

2.) She’s the apple of her daddy’s eye.

3.) And her mommy was so happy to finally meet her beautiful baby girl.

Thank you again to Amelia’s family!  I can’t wait to watch these two beauties grown through my lens as their family purchased one of my 3 session, year packages!

What a week! I came down with one of the worst colds I’ve had in years and spent two full days in bed. Luckily, Saturday I was well enough to crawl out of my hole to go photograph adorable little Henry and his parents in beautiful Griffith Park. Some of you may remember Henry from my post (here) almost a year ago. It’s hard to believe that it has already been a year! He’s getting so big and SO cute!!

These are some of the first photos I’ve gotten of Henry without his cute little tongue out!  I almost didn’t recognize him!  I can’t get over the little sparkle in his eyes.

Autumn fades into winter as darkness starts to claim the day sooner than it should casting everything with a soft glow until the sun gives up, sinking into the horizon.  Christmas lights sparkle; chilly air slips through the cracks between the window panes begetting a need for the frequent drinking of warm tea.  While snuggling beneath the warm cozy sheets atop my bed, my laptop slowly warming my legs and hands, debating purchasing a space heater, I started thinking about where all the time has gone.  How did end of the year get here so quickly?  And how is it possible that it’s almost Thanksgiving?!  I’m actually very excited for Thanksgiving.  A homemade meal shared with friends and family, warm apple cider, spiced pumpkin pies with fresh whip cream, mmm yum!  Then I got to thinking about what I’m actually thankful for.

It’s really been an amazing year for me both personally and professionally.  I’m in a fantastic relationship, I have met some amazing people this year and have continued support and love from old friends and family.  My business has allowed me to meet so many wonderful couples and come into their lives at the most amazing time.  I couldn’t be more in love with the joy I bring to people in doing what it is that I do.  Although I’m VERY behind on my travel writing/blogging, I did more traveling than ever before.  This year alone I was in 5 countries, and over 30 amazing cities. I’ve even ignited my passion for writing as I have started writing a novel in the National Novel Writing Month competition this month!  And all of which, I am very thankful.

Janet may be 80 but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her!  She’s so full of spirit and spunk, not to mention she looks fabulous!  Her lovely daughter had a beautiful lunch birthday for her mother.  It was so sweet and you could just feel the love for this birthday girl in the room.
