happy new year

Where did this year go?  I still can’t believe 2010 is almost here.  Thought I would wish everyone the best for the new year as well as share this amazingly fun photo shoot (part two) with my food friend Tashina and her hubby.

retro christmas

In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, I thought I’d post this amazing retro Christmas shoot!!  When my dear friend, Tashina, asked if I would take picture in a vintage/retro themed Christmas setting in their fantastic downtown loft of course I jumped at the opportunity.   Tashina, too, is in the wedding industry.  She custom designs and makes bridal dresses.  She’s SO creative, just look at her fabulous Christmas decorations!

family portraits

I had so much FUN with this family!  Mom told me she needed photos for their holiday cards stat.  I ran up (well, drove, technically) to Santa Clarita to take these in the house she grew up in.  It was a beautiful yard for portraits.

Time to get photos of the kiddos! They were all so hilarious together.  And VERY photogenic!  I loved their willingness to pose and smile for me.

Last week I got a call from my good friend KP asking if I was available to capture some photos of his son and himself for holiday cards.  KP and Julian were great models!  And so were their two furry guinea pigs who joined the shoot.

Kenneth Paul drives a motorcycle so of course we had to find a way to incorporate it into the shoot as well.

olivia & dan :: proposal!

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Last week I received a random email from a friend asking if I’d be interested in shooting her cousin getting proposed to by her boyfriend.  Of course I jumped at the opportunity!  It was so exciting.  As Dan and I texted each other on my way to Huntington Beach, I couldn’t help but feel how anxious and excited he must be!  Heck, I felt nervous and I only had to take pictures of it!

Having never met, I had trouble finding Dan and Olivia, also it turned out I had wound up in the wrong bit of beach… fortunately I found them, but the second Dan saw me he got down on one knee.  Luckily I had my camera out and captured their moment straight away!

At first, Olivia’s cousin didn’t want her to know about me being there, but when she saw me on the beach with my lens, she requested I take photos of them.  That’s when Dan and I let the cat out of the bag.

While Dan got the ring out, he gave Olivia this note to read.  A sushi dinner followed the big proposal, a place they frequent and the management was so happy for them they gave them this lit up ice cream dish.  Delicious!
