For blocks and blocks lining the beautiful campus streets are closed as local (and sometimes far) vendors set up their goods in white canvas tents.  For 4 days only, people flood the streets of the event to look at the art and search for treasures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/artfair-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2543-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2474-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2489bw-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2537-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Trying on new shades.. :)<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-ps-7917.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Everything feels &#8220;arty&#8221; here.\u00a0 Even the fire hydrants are painted differently throughout the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2480.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Young voices of children running through the crowds filled the air with delight while the vendors quickly chattered about all there precious creations.\u00a0 Water bottles were sold by girl scouts for charity.\u00a0 No one has met a stranger here and everything is so homey and quaint.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2561-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2558-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The streets were lined with not only crafts but loads and loads of FOOD.  It&#8217;s times like these I think no wonder American&#8217;s are so chubby.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2501-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2502bw-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2491-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2503-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/071809-40d-2479-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<img alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But we couldn&#8217;t resist the locally owned Stucchi&#8217;s for some delicious ice cream and frozen yogurt.  I&#8217;ve never seen another restaurant with so many options for frozen yogurt that tastes so much like ice cream it&#8217;s hard to tell them apart.  (I had mint chocolate chip, yum :))<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/shannonleeimages.com\/inblog\/aaartfair\/stucchis-l.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These little locally owned shops are maybe my favorite bit about Michigan and in particular, Ann Arbor.\u00a0 An unfamiliar array of restaurants, hole in the wall food joints, and creative shops line the streets offering customers an alternative to the chain restaurants that dominate so many cities.\u00a0\u00a0 Everything is cleaner and safe and the food is fresher and tastier.
