allison + brume :: st louis, missouri

“I knew the minute I saw you I wanted to marry you.”  – Brume to his new wife.

I get choked up at a different moment during every wedding, and this one was no exception.  I’d be surprised if there was a dry eye in the room after his mother’s long distance speech written from Africa and told via his sister.  And as if that weren’t enough, Brume followed it up with a beautiful speech to his wife.

Unfortunately, sometimes there’s just no predicting the weather.  Luckily, nothing could dampen this couple’s spirits who were eager to marry each other despite the impending dark clouds.  Typically, I’m pretty lucky. (knock on wood) This is only my 2nd wedding that it’s ever rained, although this was the first that it rained so hard that we couldn’t even stand outside with an umbrella.  But with a couple as beautiful and in love as Allison and Brume, they managed to make it a spectacular event despite the weather.

Rain, rain, go away…

Allison and Brume chose Chandler Hill Vineyards, a beautiful vineyard setting in Defiance, Missouri, just outside St Louis to celebrate their nuptials.

Yes, this couple served Ted Drewes.  For those of you from St Louis familiar with it, then you realize how fabulous this is.  For those of you who are not, you are seriously missing out.

Of course, the minute they served dinner it finally stopped raining.  Luckily, Allison and Brume were more than willing to run outside for a few minutes to play in the vineyard.

Best bouquet toss/catch ever.

Thanks so much you two for being so fabulous and willingness to work with me despite the weather!  I wish you two the best life together as you start off your marriage in Boston!
