lightroom – a lifesaver

after 6 hours of editing one night and still having over half the photoshoot to go. Desperate for help, I decided one of two things needed to happen. One: Something needed to change or two: I need to stop taking so many photos. Since the latter is VERY unlikely to ever happen, the next morning I downloaded a free trial of Adobe Lightroom.

WOW! Let me just say, I wish I’d switched to this program when I’d first heard of it years ago. It’s speed has saved me hours (and I mean HOURS) of time. I felt like with each click I was getting my life back. Yes, I still have hours of backlogged photos/photo shoots to get through, but I’m getting there! And at a much faster pace. Here are a few screen shots of the shoot I did the other day (soon to be blogged) and one I’m working on tonight.

I (heart) lightroom.

For anyone looking for a change like me, although I’m sure many of you are light years ahead of me, you can download a month free trial it off their website at – http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/. It costs somewhere between $250-$300 but you can find it cheaper if you look or are/know a student.

  1. I am right there with you Shannon. I added Lightroom about a year ago and can’t imagine going back. Adobe has added some cool features with the Lightroom 2 release which makes it even more photoshop like. There’s also a ton or presets you can get for free off the net to do certain tasks for you.

    Enjoy!!

  2. My daugther is on the verge of investing in a really nice camera (she’s researching first) and I’ll let her know about your Lightroom 2 experience.

Pix of baby Henry are ADORABLE! I even love the ones of him crying in the grass. Just too sweet.

  3. I have been trying out the free download too… it’s nice…I love the presets… I am also using the software that came with my camera (a canon, therefore I am also using Digital Photo Professional) I like them both, each one has different things I like about it.
